This is a shirt that I designed that Wavves printed for the tour that they are either on now or just finished. This is a very Tumblr oriented shirt. I was told that these are selling really well and that they’ve already had to reprint them.

If you can’t tell, it’s Charles Barkley and Nirvana from when they were on SNL together. The drawing is based on the promo they did for the episode and the text is something Barkley said during the promo. 

They printed it really nicely with discharge ink so it doesn’t sit on top of the shirt like plastic based inks but is really thin and doesn’t change the texture of the fabric.

Rolling Stone Q&A: Thurston Moore on Chelsea Light Moving, Occupy Wall Street and the Future of Sonic Youth

• Rolling Stone: Were you surprised by Kim's recent interview in Elle in which talked about your marital problems?
• Thurston Moore: I'm not gonna talk about it. There's no aspect of that I will ever talk about.
• Rolling Stone: So is Chelsea Light Moving your full-time band now?
• Thurston Moore: It is. I think names define things, and I'm gonna keep the name whether I have the same members or not, and I'll keep it as my name for my rock & roll music. If Sonic Youth ever plays again, that will be Sonic Youth, obviously.
• Rolling Stone: Is that a possibility at this point?
• Thurston Moore: Um, yeah. I would never say I don't see why not. Life changes from time to time and who knows what will happen in the future. Your crystal ball is about as clear as my crystal ball is. Really–seriously. It's not something I think about right now. It's in stasis, for reasons that are obvious.

Today, the Onion A.V. Club asks, Are oral histories a good way to write about music? (My answer: definitely not as often as many writers and editors seem to think.) The piece, pegged to today’s release of Louder Than Hell: The Definitive Oral History of Metal by my friends Jon Wiederhorn and Katherine Turman, gives a nice shout-out to my book, Everybody Loves Our Town: An Oral History of Grunge:

Everybody Loves Our Town is an oral history, and it’s about the Seattle grunge scene. It’s also a fantastic work of journalism, one that punctures a lot of the mythology surrounding the town and sound that Nirvana supposedly built (but really didn’t). Besides giving a soapbox to various grunge-era lunatics and movers-and-shakers alike, it’s not afraid to show some of its subjects contradicting each other. Or in the case of Courtney Love, lashing out at Yarm as he interviews her.
