Will Soundgarden Play Sub Pop’s 25th Birthday Bash? It does look like Tad Doyle is yelling “Soundgarden!” in the event’s promo video. I can’t tell who the other “inaudible” acts are (they may well be saying nonsense words).
Any talented lip-readers (or audio engineers) out there who can determine the identities of the other mystery acts?
Grunge elder statesmen Mark Arm, Kim Thayil, Tad Doyle and Jack Endino formally announce Sub Pop’s free 25th anniversary concert, in Seattle July 13.
The Silver Jubilee lineup so far: Mudhoney, J Mascis, Greg Dulli, Pissed Jeans, Shabbazz Palaces (with THEESatisfaction), Baptist Generals, Shearwater, Father John Misty.
Not announced on the video, but confirmed to perform: Brothers of the Sonic Cloth and Endino’s Earthworm. (More TBA.)
So the TAD reunion is just a sorta reunion: To clarify; Tad Doyle and Gary Thorstensen (two original members of TAD) will be joining Brothers of the Sonic Cloth to play a set of songs from the band TAD’s God’s Balls, Salt Lick and 8-Way Santarecord at the Sub Pop Records 25th Jubilee in Seattle’s Georgetown in July 2013. Interesting that Thorstensen is participating, as he declined to be interviewed for the TAD documentary. Also: Love Pavitt’s Facebook comment!
