"We have a musical legacy: the albums, the music, the songs. The interpretations belong to the people who listen to them. The fans own the records and listen to them and love them. It becomes the soundtrack to some part of their lives and we don’t control that. To me that’s what’s exciting about what we do. " - Chris Cornell

Matt Cameron chooses Pearl Jam over Soundgarden for 2014

From Cameron’s statementI will be taking 2014 off from Soundgarden touring due to prior commitments promoting “Lightning Bolt” with my brothers in Pearl Jam and the desire to have more time at home with my family. I am trying to balance the many twists and turns of my awesome music career. This is temporary. I am still an active member of Soundgarden. Chris, Ben, Kim and I are in the process of finding the perfect substitute for the upcoming Soundgarden dates in 2014.

Question of the day: Who would be the “perfect substitute” for Matt Cameron in Soundgarden?
