Mark Lanegan on Turning 50 Next Month

Diffuser: You’re coming up on 50 next month. Big plans, or will you be out on the road?
Mark Lanegan: I’m not going to be out on the road for once. For the first time in 10 years I’m going to actually be home on my birthday. I’m going to go out to dinner, nothing fancy.
Diffuser: Not going to do it up? No giant Vegas party with showgirls and …
Lanegan: I’ve used up all of my partying privileges.

[FunkBox is] an app that has a collection of vintage drum machine sounds on it so I don’t have to actually have to hook up any of my drum machines, which I sold recently because this app is too easy to use. I used the app on the record for a couple of the songs. But yeah, I used FunkBox to compose a few of the songs by writing the drum parts and then added to it. It’s great to use because it’s easy, and I’m the kind of guy who always chooses the path of least resistance!
