The Melvins have announced dates for their 30th anniversary tour of North America. Meanwhile, Spin is streaming the band’s new cover album, Everybody Loves Sausages, accompanied by track-by-track commentary from Buzz Osborne.

Brand-new Eddie Vedder video for “Sleeping by Myself.” Vedder kicks off a solo tour tonight in Las Vegas.  Pearl Jam bandmate Jeff Ament’s side project RNDM also launches a tour tonight, in Missoula, Montana.

Congrats to Melvins Lite, who completed their 51 States in 51 Days tour last night in Hawaii! (Though the tour appears neither to be a Guinness World Record nor entirely unprecedented.)

Last night in Anchorage, Alaska, the Melvins launched their Guinness world record attempt to play all 50 states and D.C. in 51 consecutive days. (Pictured: drummer Dale Crover with an Alaskan fan.) Tonight, they rock Seattle.

The main thing about that [1989 Nirvana/TAD] tour was just laughing. It was always, ‘What could we do that would be funny?’ Like somehow they got hold of some Arnold Schwarzenegger exercise video, and Kurt Cobain made a cassette tape of Arnold Schwarzenegger saying things like ‘Sexy, slim waist’ over and over. During some of the shows, my instructions were that whenever there was a gap between songs, I would bring this cassette in, so between Nirvana songs you’d hear Arnold Schwarzenegger going, ‘Sexy, slim waist.’
